a poem from me.

PLEASE SPARE ME A COUPLE MINUTES & LISTEN. this is important to me. was definitely shaking the whole time while reading this aloud because i’m not used to speaking about how i feel as an asian american publicly. i wrote this and tried to encompass most of what i felt, but i could never write it all out because it’s too much and too complex. my thoughts are literally everywhere. this is what i could get on paper & wanted to share it. one thing i want to add tho. even if you are not someone that partakes in asian culture, you shouldn’t have to in order to care about other human beings because our existence & importance shouldn’t be transactional. i mentioned those specific things bc i’ve struggled with the double standard that comes with indulging in someone else’s culture. i hope you take something from this & to my fellow asians, idk if you can relate to any of this, but if you need to talk, i’m always here & if you wanna vent and share your feelings i’d love to listen 🤍
