luv thyself series - prompt #11

Updated: Mar 15, 2021

...hi...

i'm deeply sorry.

it's been 4 days i know.

look.

ya girl had some photos to edit & made a whole photography page that i had to remake on a mobile version and then optimize the rest of my blog for people who don't use desktops...

again though... i am sowwy.

but i am back! i don't know for how long 🥲 it seems like i am always trying to get on track with posting daily, but it doesn't last that long. here's to trying 🥂 there are lots of updates on the blog for phone users, but the bts x esquire x helen page? gorl, it's cute. go look.

alright, but here's the link to the prompts and let's do this: https://selflovecircle.co.uk/self-love-journal-prompts/

prompt #11: what makes you feel loved and cared for?

well for starters, my love language is quality time. at least, that's what a quiz told me. i do think that's accurate though. i have always valued spending undisturbed time with everyone being present. it makes me feel like the person/people i'm with value my time, what i'm talking about, and/or what we're doing. i get easily irritated if i realize that the person that i'm with is literally letting what i tell them go from one ear out the other. i am someone that remembers conversations and encounters vividly. from the little smirk someone might give when i said a certain phrase to the sassy remark they made verbatim. so when i'm having a conversation with someone, and i can tell that they're not paying attention to the details of the story, i get slightly upset. oh, and pause on facetime for no good reason??? you've lost me.

so yea, undivided attention makes me feel loved. another thing that makes me feel loved and cared for is when people support my work: this blog, my singing covers, my photo shoots, my random social media rants, etc. i LOVE when i get messages from people along the lines of "i loved your cover of that song," "your blog looks amazing," "your shoots are so creative," etc. if you support my work, i love you. i take my creative endeavors very seriously, if you can't tell. i put lots of time into them & try my best to make them of quality (quality seems to be a theme here). so when i hear that people enjoy it and see that they share it, i feel very much loved. warm and fuzzy.

support in general is something that shows me that someone cares. i don't reveal my inner thoughts and emotions much. it's just how i've grown up, but when and if i do, it's comforting when people reach out. people that ask how i am and make an effort to see what life has been like for me, whether there's something wrong or not, are people i'd like to keep in my life. i realize that i will try multiple times to keep in contact with people, but once i see that they don't reciprocate the same care and effort, i pull back quickly. at first, i used to be upset about friends not making an effort. then my sister simply put it this way about an old friend of mine, "i think they've served their time and purpose in your life." now i see it as those people are temporary. we had a good friendship with memorable experiences, but their time is up in my life and mine in theirs. i suggest you all do the same; it makes life an easier pill to swallow.

another thing that makes me feel loved is reassurance. it is something that i am not too proud of, but i need just an ounce of reassurance. reassurance that we are still on good terms, reassurance about a situation i'm dealing with that i came to you for, reassurance that you thought about me that one random day, things of that nature. if you can make me feel safe and/or remembered, i am grateful. there are not many people that i have in my life that i can turn to, but when the time comes, those that i do turn to are very good at making me feel like i am important and that everything will be okay, as cliche as it sounds. it's not something everyone needs, but it is something i need. a little nudge or dose of motivation is good for my spirit.

as always, i am very curious as to what voizies' answer to my prompts are. please interact. the comments are very lonely. it's like antarctica in that mf. please comment 🥺 (if you can't see that, it's a pouty face). once again, sorry for the delay. i hope you enjoyed this post. see you next time voizies!
