luv thyself series - prompt #12

ya girl's back with another luv thyself prompt. it's been really hectic in my household and not in a good way. lots of tension, but i hope it works itself out. i'm getting stressed by the day, so i should do these prompts more often.

prompt #12: what is your favorite physical feature?

ooo i like this. i'm surprised to say that to be honest because i am not someone who has been too fond of my physical appearance for a long time. there was always something i wanted to change. i am extremely petite and was also conditioned, like a lot of people, to see eurocentric features as "more attractive." the good thing is i broke out of that construct quite quickly. i was lucky enough to be surrounded by people of color growing up and took it upon myself to learn about how eurocentric beauty standards have created a distorted view of what beauty is. i am still trying to break out of comparing myself to other people and society's standard of beauty. it's always changing, and it's very subjective, so why care? easier said than done, but we're trying.

okay now that i've given you a long explanation for no reason, my favorite physical feature. i think this has two answers. my favorite physical feature on other people is probably their eyes, specifically their eyelashes. growing up, my eyes were a huge source of insecurity. the worn out asian eye jokes get to you. i think because of that i started paying attention to other people's eyes. seeing how different they were from mine. i have really thin and ridiculously straight eyelashes. nothing will curl them. my eyes are pitch black until they hit the sun. there is no clear crease, but they're not mono-lid eyes. there are just a million creases. after realizing mines weren't the "ideal" eyes, other people's eyes caught my attention. of course, because i look at people in their eyes, but also just because people's eyes are so pretty :3. curly lashes, long perky lashes, short but curly lashes, straight but thick eyelashes, the delicate ones, all of it. i love them. and all the eye colors?! i've seen so many colors. some are as aquamarine blue. some are a warm hazel. others are as endless and black like mine. some hit the sun and look amber. others are an ambiguous grey green. just so pretty. eye shapes are so interesting too. from pearly doe eyes to sharp, mono-lid eye to eyes like mine that have a countless creases, they're something i like to fall for.

now, my favorite on me? battle between my bone structure and my hands. very obscure features to mention, i know. i like my semi-sharp jaw line, and my cheekbones sit at a pretty nice place on my face. they just look nice. i don't know why they're my favorite, but i don't ever wanna lose that structure. one day, old age will cause them to not be as clearly seen, but til then i'm gonna try to keep them prominent.

now for me hands. i have slender fingers and my nails are HEALTHY. nice cuticles, long nail base, all that jazz. they're just aesthetically pleasing? when my nails grow out, and i actually paint them, they look so long and elegant. i love putting multiple rings on to accent them. hard to choose between my hands and my bone structure. voizies choose for me :). comment below. here are my hands.
