luv thyself series - #prompt 14

hi hi :) how are voizies today? i am stressed. i am tired, but i baked a cake, got the waffle house i was craving, and am doing better. i also have been working on some pictures for my instagram which you should check out right here 😉 let's see what today's prompt is.

prompt #14: what is your biggest achievement?

hmm. don't like this one. not because it's a bad question, but because i never have an answer for this one. because i don't think anything in my life has really been an "achievement." they all kind of seem like small stepping stones. maybe that's a bad way to think about it. probably need a mindset change. how about i list some that could be my biggest achievement? okay? kay.

  1. getting into nyu's music program. if you read prompt #4, you'll recall i mentioned needing to forgive myself for not attending nyu. i applied to nyu and their music technology program at steinhardt. after sending in audition pieces, covers, and a song i made, i waited with bated breath for months to hear back. i heard back one night while i was at work with the email saying that i was accepted. though i didn't go because of how much it cost, i am still very proud that i was able to get into such a prestigious school and a competitive music program.

  2. this blog! i think you've heard this enough, but võice is my child. love it very much. i put a lot of time into this blog because it was something i always wanted to do, but never got around to it. i never thought i could, but i proved myself wrong. this blog looks amazing, if i do say so myself.

  3. being able to sing in top choirs with amazing choral directors. it's been a good 7 years since i've been involved with choral activities. i am so grateful for the people and the experiences that i have met since being in my high school's select womens' and mixed ensemble to being in georgia state's premier choir. the competitions, the lgpe's, the all state choir (only did it for a year though cause it was not for me. woops), singing in front of the whole high school student body and club meetings, conferences, recording an album, working with eric whitacre, and soooo many more memories are irreplaceable. singing with the friends and colleagues i admire and hold dear to my heart is something i feel blessed with and proud of.

  4. raising my sister so well. that's all i need to say 😌

this is one of those times i wish i entered competitions and got awards, but very very shy and anxious girl speaking here. it's okay. these small achievements are still things i look back on and am proud of. what are/is your biggest achievement(s)? y'all must have way better ones because the people who read my blog lead such interesting and fun lives. please let me know so i can cheer you on :)
